The City
About the City.
Tech levels are slightly more advanced that what we might see in earth in 2015, with some glaring exceptions;
· Medical: full cloning available with transplanting of memories from past body.
o Cyberware: limb, organ and brain replacement.
· Transport- Mag tubes that move at super-sonic speeds from point to point. Think of it as a really exciting subway ride complete with inertial dampers and artificial gravity.
· Power: 100% solar redirected from the shell over the earth. It comes to the City free, but the Corporations make you pay for it.
Military: hardly a need for it. As one government, Orgatek rules the planet, they make the rules and no one can argue with much effect. There are side warring sub-corps that are formed around a certain cause like ‘White-power’ or something, but they hardly amount to much.
Picture the City as an earth covered with several entirely connected structures that are literally miles high. Only about 30% of the Ocean is visible from orbit you have to try really hard to see land. Life in The City is a cross between Blade-Runner and The 5th Element, minus the aliens.
Every nutrient the planet and man might need is now artificially grown and there are no (reported) side-effects.
The shell has been up over the earth now for over 50 years and you are the product of life turned upside down. No money, no place to live, and nothing to call your own that you can’t hold in one hand. Your life-debt will take several generations to pay off.

Re: The City
At the start of the game you will start with little to nothing in the way of possessions. Having just served mandatory time in various indentured service positions for being ex-citizens of a collapsed canopy, you will be released with the clothes on your back and 5000 eb in monies.
So regardless of your skills and ex profession, you are now destitute, jobless and without aim. This will be the beginning of your new lives.
